Founded in 2017 by Claire Begheyn, a former management trainer who worked mainly at De Baak, a large training center, this is a place designed entirely to host professional gatherings: meetings, training sessions, events, and presentations, with an eye for detail and attention to the human scale.

De Nieuwe Ruimte is located in a former artist’s studio of the Dutch sculptor Govert Heikoop. His artistic legacy lives on in the space itself: wooden sculptures, natural materials, and carefully designed details define the atmosphere. The 180 m² venue exudes openness and inspiration. Thanks to the high windows, the mezzanine, and the abundant daylight, an energizing work environment is created.

It’s this unique balance between professional functionality and creative inspiration that makes De Nieuwe Ruimte a favourite with a wide range of organizations: from international companies, consultants and trainers to creative agencies and other major businesses. The space has every modern facility: dimmable lighting, controllable sun-shading screens behind the windows, a Turbosound system, air conditioning and all the technical support you need. A big surprise in the heart of Amsterdam: we had the Nieuwe Ruimte at our disposal for a day for training purposes. The space is bright, atmospheric, and lends itself well to splitting into small groups. The acoustics are excellent. The catering was pure indulgence: all kinds of tea, coffee, and soft drinks. A wide variety of treats and the lunch was very tasty. In summary: everything about the facilities helped to be fully present. So, highly recommended!

Top location for organizing group meetings! I regularly come here with groups (15-50 people) to organize lectures. Professional organization, yet very intimate and personal. The team always thinks along with you. Pleasant to deal with. The hall is nice and bright and very pleasant (there is also air conditioning for the warm moments). The hall has all the facilities I need. Catering (appetizers and lunch) is excellent and prepared with love. In short, highly recommended!

A few months ago, we had a school (teachers) reunion. The room was perfectly suitable. We could talk to many people at the same time, or conversely, with someone individually in relative privacy. And the lunch was fantastic. Delicious soup and various sandwiches. And something nice and sweet for afterwards. The drinks flowed seamlessly. We all enjoyed it very much and will be back next year!
