Homemade catering

We believe food should give you energy. Listening attentively and taking participation with concentration takes energy. During the breaks, food and drinks get you out of your slump and keep you sharp all day. That’s the starting point when we choose ingredients and prepare your food. The catering is made downstairs, so you’re not distracted by smells or sounds from the kitchen in the meeting room.

How to reach the venue

De Nieuwe Ruimte is centrally located and easy to reach. It’s one metro stop from Amsterdam Central Station and three stops from Amstel Station. The Waterlooplein (subway stop) is a five-minute walk away, and from the Oosterdokgarage car park it’s roughly eight minutes on foot to Nieuwe Uilenburgerstraat 106a. There are four more car parks nearby. Bus and tram stops are close by too, so the venue is very easy to reach.

I found De Nieuwe Ruimte years ago. You can really tell the owner was a management trainer herself. I had a feeling it would be a good match. The space has many advantages: big, generous layout, plenty of natural light, and a good location. The technology works, every time. Nowhere else do you find so many flip charts with four colors of markers on top of each. The tables are lovely and practical, and the light chairs are comfortable to sit on. There are different seating spots: a big sofa, a smaller one, a large oval table with chairs you can use as a workout space. We’ve been here many times, and we’ll be back many more!

The wonderful breakfasts and lunches, and the great care the host takes, are things I often miss elsewhere or don’t rate as highly at other venues. The host told me that one of the owners, Claire Begheyn, is a visual artist and lives and works downstairs. That creativity and playfulness shows in the space and in all the details, the color accents and the crockery by Marcel Wanders. It’s just a little different, and it gives people the extra something that, even though they’re in a meeting, makes them feel at home and welcome. I think this is one of the best training venues in the world, and I tell others so!

How many people fit in the meeting space?
De Nieuwe Ruimte seats 85 people, and holds 120 without chairs.
We offer plenty of catering options for every time of day. We make everything in-house with fresh, organic ingredients wherever possible, and we take dietary requirements into account. We put together a new menu every month, in line with the seasons.

Bringing your own food and drink isn’t permitted.

The minimum booking is one 4-hour session, a half day. Or less hours for the same price.
1 session: € 595,- excl. 21% VAT
2 sessions: € 995,- excl. 21% VAT
3 sessions: €1.250,- excl. 21% VAT
